Andrew Garfield Responds to Rumors About Starring in the Harry Potter Series

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Andrew Garfield, the actor best known for The Amazing Spider-Man films, has responded to rumors about joining the upcoming Harry Potter series in a new interview with GQ, saying that he has only recently started watching the movie adaptations for the first time.
Garfield has long been a fan-favorite pick to play a young Remus Lupin in a potential prequel titled Marauders. Fans of J.K. Rowling’s fantasy books called for a Marauders movie back in the early 2010s, suggesting Aaron Taylor-Johnson as James Potter, Ben Barnes as Sirius Black, Andrew Garfield as Remus Lupin, and Dane DeHaan as Peter Pettigrew. The project never materialized, but many fans still hold out hope.
Responding to a fan’s comment about Remus Lupin, Garfield said: “You know, I’ve just started watching the Harry Potter films for the first time. I’m very late to the game. I’ve just started the third one. I’m really enjoying it. They’re great films. Great stories.”
The third installment of the series, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, marks the first appearance of Remus Lupin, portrayed by David Thewlis.
Garfield had previously been asked in a BBC interview whether he would consider playing Remus Lupin. He replied, “That’s a question I don’t quite know how to answer. I’ll consider any role. How about that?”
